Spend a Year Abroad

For all students studying a foreign language for their degree, a year abroad in that country is usually compulsory and for good reason. It allows them to become fluent in the language and to fully interact with the culture and the people of the country.

For those studying Italian, the university usually helps the student to find Milan or Romecityapartments depending on which city they prefer to study in; and a work placement to make full use of their time.

Although they are working during the week it gives them a fantastic opportunity at the weekend to really discover the country that they are so passionate about. A weekend in Siena, that amazing historic city with its world famous horse race through the streets, the Palio; or a few days spent taking in the Amalfi coast in a rented car.

Anyone spending their study year in Italy should also not miss Florence and its surrounding villages; an area that has one of the highest concentrations of classic art in the world. The architecture, the cathedral and the Renaissance paintings, frescoes and sculptures are not to be missed.

By spending a year in your chosen country you experience more than just the language. Your mind is opened up to new experiences and events and you go back to your final year at university a completely changed person.
